Corporate State versus Nations

Since ancient times, even prior to recorded history, some people traveled over land and sea to trade. In many societies, merchants required the permission of rulers to engage in their business, and of course paid tax for the privilege. In other cases, the merchants formed the government or were part of the government, and of course, in some cases merchants toppled local governments to obtain access to finished trade goods, raw materials, or new markets for goods.

Trade, of course, isn't the production of goods. Trade, is what I think of as "a third thing", that which arises from others, and was of the god Hermes. While the trader sees himself as the spirit of fertility, helping to consummate the union of the sun and the earth, his interest and the producers and consumers interests are at best, only partly aligned, and in many cases, are in direct opposition. Consider the Chiquita Banana and Dole Fruit companies treatment of Honduras in the late 19th century. By controlling the land and sea routes and market for trade, they were able to install their own governments and extract the lion's share of the wealth from the banana business, and to acquire all the productive land.

For traders (hereafter sea people) well organized, even aggressive producers (land people) are anathema. Less wealth, or even in some draconian cases, no wealth can be extracted, because the land people judge the traders to be thieves or parasites, rather than providing a useful service.

Perhaps this conflict is coming to a boil in the United States, and in Europe as "nativists" are disparaged by some pundits, "free trade" agreements are excoriated by others for their bad terms, and the mass arrival of alien populations is viewed as an existential threat by locals.

The corporate society that's maturing in the western world views itself as distinct from its nation, that is has no political ties to the territories it happens to inhabit, nor the people who happen to live there. Arguably, it's the child of the sea, a descendant of the trading companies of the 18th and 19th centuries like the East India Company. For the corporates, land is a commodity to be bought and sold, and people are completely interchangeable economic creatures: employees or customers. Their beliefs, myths and history are unimportant. The laws and education system of the west are structured to produce corporate citizens: people with no ties and no memory.

It appears, though, that people are waking up, that is, becoming aware of their position, and rejecting the corporates. As of yet, there's no real idea of an alternative. Just as people who are skeptical of a globe (without knowing anything about the earth's geometry) decide the opposite must be true (a flat earth), people who are skeptical of corporate societies decide the opposite, e.g. a tribal society, must be ideal, or seek solace from politics in ideas of anarchy or voluntaryism.

The purpose of this blog is to perform an in vivo archaelogical dig on my own European American brain to try to scrape back the layers of false associations, to connect to the natural world, and to discover points of navigation that are true. A human is an animal, and it's our animal aspect that connects us to nature and to the land where we live. It's also our animal nature that connects us to one another, through family, or through friendship, or more tenuously through politics. The ancient habits of our ancestors shape who we are and what we think is important. We are the sunlight, dirt, water, and information that's been recycled countless times. We are severely limited, yet think we can imagine infinities and eternities.

Knowledge of who and what you are and your place in the world supersedes politics and the trivia of markets and trade. It's what makes it possible for a man or woman to have high regard for themselves and to see kings, tyrants, and politicians as petty conmen or people worthy to follow or believe in.

200 Years Together

Alexander Solzhenitsyn's book 200 Years Together is a history of Jews in Russia up to the disastrous, genocidal Communist (Jewish) revolution.

The backstory of the Jews in Russia (and across the world) is very interesting and illuminates the general pattern of European History since the collapse of the Roman Empire.

The germanic tribes, like the Swabians, the Visigoths, the Saxons supposedly moved into Europe from the Black Sea region in the early centuries AD. Nobody really has an explanation for why that happened. There are hints about how it happened in various sources, but the aggregate movements of the people are pretty hard to explain. It seems like the home base would send out young people to seek their opportunities abroad as populations grew.

Anyway, shortly after they settled in Europe, their traditional way of life was replaced by force and persuasion, and they became Christians and were drafted into new nations and new systems of economic organization. Their tribal religion and identity was wiped away so by around 1000 AD there were no pagans left in Europe.

Christianity was like a highly edited and stripped down version of the prior era of classical civilization, and that legacy was split in two pieces between the Eastern and Western Empire. The west was the Latin civilization, and the east was the Greek. The catholic church ended up as a sort of meta-state and super NGO to the newly emerging western nation states, like France. It was like the main-stream-media and CFR today.

The Jewish people went through a parallel passage from the classical world to the medieval world. However, their tribe had been destroyed by the Romans as a military force in the early century AD while the Germans had warred with the Romans and also served as mercenary forces and even officers in the Roman Empire. It seems like the left-over elements of Jewish society moved up into the Black Sea region and merged with one of the tribes there--the Ashkenazi.

While eastern and western Europe were christianizing and forced into new nations, the Jewish tribe remained independent. I don't know if there's a good explanation of this anywhere. The germanic tribes in the west had their ancient religion removed at sword point. For some reason that didn't happen to the Jews. You could probably explain and understand the whole of the modern world if you knew how and why that happened.

For the next several centuries, the jews ended up as merchants and intermediaries between the nations, and between rulers and the serfs. (Solzhenitsyn keeps hinting that they really worship Hermes/Mercury.) In Russia, France, and England that happened. I don't know the history of other countries in Europe, but I assume it happened there too.

The 200 Years Together backstory shows the uneasy and comical relationship between the aristocracy and rulers of the Russian Empire and the jews, who lived in a parallel society with it's own laws and rules and leadership. It's sort of similar to the interaction of the US government and the native tribes in the United States, except the jewish people had strategic assets to bargain with, like established trade and intelligence networks, plus bribery and blackmail operations. In the Russian Empire there were endless attempts and regulation and integration of the jews as a body of people, rather than as individuals. This same ethnic minority integration has been going on forever in the United States too. It seems to be a feature of multi-ethnic empires and nation states.

The "Christianized" Europeans were already long conquered by the rulers of the different nations and Empires of Europe and formed up into subjects and nominal citizens of nations like France and England by the 19th century, while the Jews were still separate people. Even in the United States in the civil war, Jews were operating as a separate nation in the South.

The Jews in 19th and 20th century Europe gradually turned into a modern version of the Christian churches and assumed their functional role as an intermediary and news provider, and teaching of values to children via mass media and the entertainment industry. It's basically the inversion of the church's Christian teaching. That brings us to now, when the whole western culture has turned rotten and governments and corporations are dysfunctional and corrupt. By the way, it's not "the jews" that corrupt everything, it's prosperity. Since the jews seem to excel at being merchants, they're  most prevalent in the most merchant-like times, which are the most prosperous, and the most corrupt.

It seems like the world of man is sometimes a stable mix of these different cultures and groups but easily goes out of equilibrium. The Roman world expanded, but went insane and imploded once it got Greeked out. Then we got the germanic christian world which expanded around the globe and established links among all the peoples' of the world, but appears to be going insane and imploding now because it's also getting Greeked and Jewed out.

What comes next? I don't think there's any bridge to the Sci-Fi future that's sold by talking heads like Bill Gates. Imperial Russia's hamfisted and sometimes earnest and well meaning attempts to integrate the jews or the United States repeated attempts to engineer life outcomes of various minority groups, and the repeated mega failures of central planning seem to auger against the technocrat schemes.

I think deep down, the germanic people hate the corporate culture of this current moment in the story of the western people. The corporate culture hates the germanic people too. This is at the root of the rural and urban political split in United States politics. I don't even think this split is Jew versus Christian. It's really the urban classical Mediterranean world and its chronic Empire parasite versus the Germanic tribes all over again.

Paranoia About Trump's Constituency

The "coastal elites" hate Donald Trump, at least the ones who control the mainstream media do. Why?

Trump: Al Sharpton for Middle America?

I don't think the man Trump really poses much of a threat to the status quo or the establishment (the coastal elites [The Sea People]). On the other hand, his constituency does pose a serious threat to the status quo. The tens of millions, or maybe hundreds of millions of Americans in middle America--the scorned flyover country--are a threat. When they wake up to the fraud of the financial system, and its symbiotic enablers in DC, they can just shrug and shed it overnight as they have in the past. The paper wealth of crony billionaires is actually dwarfed (I am guessing) by the real wealth of all the real property, and potential labor, expertise, and energy of this mass of productive people. That mass of people can actually just reset the financial system to their benefit and wipe out the wealth of those currently on top.

Trump shows that these people can be organized relatively easily. He also shows that they're not receptive to the old methods of control--the mass media facade has cracked. The various bogeymen that are trotted out to scare them don't work as well anymore. Repeatedly calling Trump's supporters Nazis for example has probably succeeded more in un-demonizing the Nazis than it has in peeling away his constituents to Hillary Clinton and the people she represents (deep state DC, and the NYC financial mafia).

Similarly, attempting to whip up racial strife via Black Lives Matter, or by race baiting in the mainstream media seems to be backfiring. The US is effectively segregated. Angry black people in city centers aren't much of a threat to white people living in suburbia or rural America. Identity politics, rather than dividing and conquering the United States, has possibly succeeded in prodding white people into playing the same game.

However, in a modern nation, a nation of immigrants, identity politics--white identity politics specifically--is very diluted. It might only serve to make people think about their self interest--of their family and community rather than their nonsense racial identity. Similarly, Trump is just a step along a path toward organizing against DC and NYC. He's tapped into the emotional reaction against the status quo, but provides no real alternative to it. He's a figurehead.

If Hillary Clinton wins, I think there's a greater chance for real political cracks to open up in the United States. The Trump constituency, and others who dislike the establishment will start to organize.

If Trump wins, I think the status quo, the establishment remain at the helm for four or eight more years, as his constituents will look to him and the US political and financial system for change, rather than changing it themselves.

RR Part Three -- The People Who Know Things

Wendy Tremayne, author of The Good Life Lab bailed out of the corporate world to live like a pioneer, basically, but with all the advantages of technology. One of the concepts she elaborates in her book is what she calls acculturated knowledge. That's the knowledge of navigating society, having a job, being a citizen. In other words, it's not actual practical knowledge.

Many people--really billions all over the west--are several degrees removed from producing anything at all that's needed for their own survival. They don't have a garden or animals that they use for food. They couldn't get clean water, etc... Their survival depends on the corporate, commercial culture, and more subtly on the system of incentives, i.e. money, that keep its cogs and treadmills turning.

In the West, the people who dole out the incentives and maintain the system (i.e. the corporate state) generally reap the (very greedy) lion's share of rewards, even though it's the people who have actual knowledge who add value to materials, produce goods, and perform vital services. The knowers are quite rare. Consider, for example, if you use very broad terms to define "scientists and engineers", that category of knowers (many of whom have no practical knowledge), they amount to less than 2% of the population of the United States.

The knowers are an ideal fulcrum for a new Reformation because the knowers are civilization. They're a potential real fault line between the parasitic imperial system of the Western world and the people. Why haven't the knowers asserted their power within this current debt & death system, as they did in the medieval Guild system? (Look at the Grange as a great example of a group of knowers who avoided their power.)

In one of my previous posts, I wrote about Conan the Barbarian and "the riddle of steel", which provides some answers. From the perspective of an individual that's struggling against "the system", society, civilization is a game, it's a trick a con game. Accepting it at face value in our time, means plodding along the treadmill as a consumer or an employee, or it means running and owning a business, which really means keeping your enterprise plugged into the financial and tax systems.

A quest for truth, and for the good, reconnecting with the gods makes the civilization game apparent. It renders the incentives of the game ridiculous. It could kill the Empire one person at a time, but even a quest for truth, a higher consciousness could go awry.

Consider the reaction of two different groups to this quest: the Hutterites and the Neocons. The Hutterites left Western society and its customs to live in their version of a Christian commune. The Neocons became grifters, predators and manipulators. These choices are reflected in mythology in the story of Cain and Abel, or of the perpetual struggle between the Sky God and Saturn, or the philosophical struggle between being and seeming, or conflicts between the people of the land and the people of the sea, producers and traders.

The End of the Ice Age, Flood Myths and Atlantis

The Ice Age was the Best Age

I've wondered why anyone attaches significance to the precession of the equinox. The spring equinox marked the start of the year for cultures for a long time. It's a good day to use as an anchor for the year for people who practice agriculture and it's a convenient day for making observations, too, because it's the day the sun rises due east.

In a human lifetime, the apparent position of the constellations on the equinox shift about 1 degree on the horizon. People who used even rudimentary instruments to make observations would notice, but why would anyone attribute significance to it? It's really akin to a phenomenon like moon phases.

I think the Pleistocene, the ice age, was really, in many ways, the best time for humanity. It was the garden of eden era of mankind. The population was low and spread out. The hunter gatherer lifestyle worked well and people who were healthy and well fed were probably about as happy as humans can be. It was like a permanent camping trip. I think this is encapsulated in the story of Enkidu living with the animals.

The end of the ice age was probably really bad for the long established civilizations of the time. Melting glaciers and ice caps led to steadily rising seas, and a handful of localized cataclysmic floods. Weather patterns changed drastically too.

Those changes probably plagued people for many generations. Species died off, landscapes changed, and ways of life went obsolete. Cities arose at roughly the same time and for the former pastoralists, cities must have been like hell on earth. They were relatively crowded, disease ridden and filled with garbage. Conversely, the arrival of comparatively heavily armed, horse riding pastoralist warriors probably sucked for the small agricultural communities of the day. The Mongols invasions of Europe were probably similar.

The "scientists" of those days might have associated the large scale changes with the astrological ages, and in true astrological/fortune teller fashion were "correct" in retrospect. The Great Month/Astrological Age probably arose from a concrete event but gradually turned into a more vague, hoodoo astrology hippie dippy concept and became much more human oriented as the beast of civilization started to devour the whole world.

I can't help wonder if Atlantis was just the Americas. As sea levels rose, the Europeans lost contact with the North and South America continents, which had formerly been more readily accessible when sea levels were much lower. Over generations, the story became the archetypal "lost civilization/lost city" tale because it was told by people who lived in cities.

Pragmatism versus Death Cults

One of the movie and fiction tropes I absorbed as a kid is "the system" is a corrupt pile of garbage and it only persists because of the hypnotized masses. Conan the Barbarian (1982) is basically all about that. The masses are either literally enslaved through violence, or enslaved to a cult run by the magician/warlord Thulsa Doom who's ultimately defeated by Conan's ascent in consciousness. The Matrix is another movie with similar themes. There were numerous TV shows with that same set of themes all through the 80s and 90s and early 2000s, like "24", or even MacGuyver, or a ridiculous show like "The A-Team".

I think that trope failed to hold up over time for me and some of my high school friends. It is true the system is a corrupt pile of garbage. It's worse now than ever and in fact has been on consistent downhill trajectory my entire adult life. However, the "model" implied in those TV shows and movies is "the individual" can triumph over the system in a physical way, that is the heroes can actually physically defeat the thing, like in the movie They Live the hero character (who has no name) actually defeats the alien invaders by blowing up their mind control device. The general public snaps out of their slumber and presumably ousts the aliens from their midst. In "The Matrix" Neo attains super human powers through a rise in consciousness and training. Conan destroys Thulsa Doom and disbands his lotus eater death cult.

The trope fails because "the system" is really synonymous with the vast ocean of people out there in the world. One of the Roman emperors Caligula famously "declared war on the sea". The "hero" trope is a little like that. I think the Neo character is a great example of that sort of madness; Neo's line "there is no spoon" is a good summary of that insanity. Nope, it's all spoons. Or in the Conan world, you chop the head off one Thulsa Doom there's dozens popping up in his stead on a daily basis, and endless fodder for cults.

Let's take a modern day example and try to figure out who's the Thulsa Doom. In recent years some oligarch NGO and probably some college professors somehow convinced the public that 20 somethings can have different "pronouns" and to use their "wrong pronouns" is an act of violence that in some states is "illegal" in certain settings. In 1990s TV shows trannies were a punchline and comedic trope because they are ridiculous and suffer from a classic, age old problem: nature doesn't care about you, but you think you're "important" and whine and cry like a baby about your plight as if that bitching will "change" factual reality--like having testicles and a penis. Somehow, their insanity became everyone else's problem. Who's the Thulsa Doom to decapitate and "defeat" that cult of 1,000,000 Karens?

A historical "solution" to societal depravity is for groups of skilled people to bail on the delusional masses as they spiral down and down to destruction. When the masses go crazy, people start to shuffle around. For example, California net migration has been over 100,000+ people per year since 2018 due to high costs and an insane ideology heavy, corrupt government and a generalized departure from reality. There's a similar story in Illinois and New York for the same reasons. The Reformation period in Europe also drove waves of migration as the masses descended into violence and madness about crackers and wine and religious cults took over entire cities and led to starvation and mass violence.

I think one of the sorting mechanisms that will come into play in the US will be pragmatism and skill versus ideological retards and fools. What's the point, for example, of skilled people propping up corrupt, incompetent corporate/financial America? The "skilled middle" will pop out of the incompetent upper and lower class and power structure.

Sand People, Sea People, Steppe People, Tree People

Lately, I've been spending a lot of time in the forest, much more than I have in most of the previous years of my life, many hours a week. The forest where I hang out clings to narrow plateaus between steep ravines where glacial deposits and top soil slip down toward the Big Creek valley, and eventually Lake Erie, then eventually to sea level.

Of course, the forest is a completely different place than the desert, or even the Eurasian Steppe. The trees limit sight lines and paths through the woods are narrow and frequently interrupted. Local knowledge, obtained only with experience is required to really navigate. It's very easy to get lost in such an environment. The forest is three dimensional. Creatures are everywhere. That environment insists on letting you know that you are just a part of a much bigger living system.

It's not so surprising that the sand people gods are so much different than the forest people gods. A stark environment with open horizons and sparse life amplifies the city, and the men of the city.

The god of the sand people maybe is the god of sand, which is then finally embodied in silicon--animated clay tablets that scribes, bureaucrats, and ledger keepers of babylon would readily recognize.

Can "No System" defeat "System"?

If you take just a couple of steps back from the day to day nonsense of elections and corona-bologna, it's possible to see how the world is shaping up.

The western world is ruled by an oligarchy and something that resembles the Chinese Communist Party apparatchiks. However, that's a very uneasy rule. It's a fifth column that has an apparent hammer lock control of the economy via corporations, but that control relies on the people not noticing that it's there. It requires so much concealment and camouflage that is has to appear to act in the public interest much of the time, or at least to pretend to serve a greater good, so it's not such an obvious threat. However, that camo is dropping right now so many people see it.

That oligarchy seems to want to pivot its base to Asia for some reason. Asia is currently heavily exploited by its own shitty governments. Just go browse some photos of Chinese rural poverty and compare that to podunk towns in middle america, or look at videos of Asian factories and workshops versus the factories and workshops you can see on YouTube in western countries. Even though China's GDP is supposedly on par with the US, it lacks all the basic infrastructure the United States and western countries have in spades.

The attempt by the Oligarchy in the US to remake the country to fit in with International Socialism based in Asia seems pretty retarded and arbitrary. It seems like they want to integrate Asia and Europe into a large trading region that heavily utilizes rail transport to move goods and people. Does that really even make sense geographically? I don't know. It seems like a product of grand central planning rather than organic transformation.

I think the phony "western" oligarchy is basically a bunch of satanists. Their core belief is they are magicians who can impose their will on the people and make it into reality.

A much better plan is no-plan. A much better government is no government. A much better system is no system. However, the no-system society seems so much weaker than the system society. Small groups of psychopaths and manipulators can enlist hoards of gullible people to extract wealth and productivity to make weapons and build armies. Tyrants have been able to hang onto power for decades while surrounded by people who should be their mortal enemies.

Could tyrants survive while surrounded by a sea of hostile free people? I think we're about to find out if that's the case, at least in western nations. How much more shit will people swallow when it comes to Covid, for example? The governments seem to know how far they can push it. In certain states in Australia, the lockdown measures are ridiculously draconian, but there's no obvious pushback or protest yet.

In the United States it seems like political and legal opposition is forming up in certain states. In Ohio for example, a bill that seeks to limit the governor's arbitrary mandates finally made its way through the legislative process. It will be vetoed, but probably will make it into law.

Anyway, I don't think Trump nationalism really worked. The globalists are in too many positions of power in the government, so really a new government is needed. This is our generation's battle and we'll probably be fighting it the rest of our lives.

The Hobby of Western Decline. China World Probably Won't Happen.

In a prior post, I pointed out the western obsession with collapse. Around the end of the British Empire, coincidentally at the end of the 19th century, the British started to see the Empire party was coming to a quick end. Americans today are seeing the end of our shitty empire (good riddance to bad rubbish!). Everyone thinks China is going to take over next in the merchant's Empire Whore game.

I was a believer in that prophecy, too. Now, I'm a skeptic. The Chinese have been poised to dominate the world for thousands of years, but they haven't. What's going to change to make that happen? All the masons and financial wizards trying to butt fuck the west into feebleness, and the east into an expansion-cosmopolitan-empire-mindset probably won't succeed. Subversion and subtrefuge and social engineering only go so far.

The "one world" culture is really just the shitty cosmopolitan homo world culture. There are distinct, ancient cultures and lineages that are tied to geography the same way there are cosmopolitans who are genetically tied to money and no land. For example, at some point in the not too distant past, my ancestors were running around in waist deep snow chasing deer and elk and mammoths up and down fucking mountains and glaciers. They developed long limbs and strong cardiovascular systems and passed that down the generations. Today, I do farm work on the weekends for a hobby that'd probably kill many people through exertion or accidents, and I'm way past my prime. I do that stuff because I'd otherwise be bored and sullen after sitting in an office and staring at a computer all fucking day. I can just barely stand it.

The merchant-globalism world empire systems come and go. They're really fleeting. It's very unfortunate that people fall into that game over and over again. They forget they're basically always at war with the fucking sea people.

If the United States gets out of the merchant empire game at peak power, it'll actually be a huge benefit to the United States and the Western Hemisphere, if not the West as a whole. It seems implausible that China would fill that Empire Whore void. They might have trouble being a hegemon in Asia, which is more like pre-WW2 Europe and chock full of ethnic strife and national divisions. Their literal cousins in Hong Kong don't even want to go to the Commie Party.

The vision of China world is probably just a fantasy of the anti-western 5th column who lives in the west.

Local Politician Crime Spree

My rule of thumb is the governments of the world are composed of all the worst people in each jurisdiction. Whenever I imagine this rule might be faulty, some new story will pop up in the local paper that cements the idea in my mind again, However, I don't think anecdotal evidence is necessary to support this concept. There's much more basic and obvious evidence provided by the politician jobs themselves: who would want to do that boring shit and what would the motivation be to run for office to obtain such a position?

Let's take the example of township trustee. There are some localities in the US who can't find anyone to run for such offices, so they faux elect a dog or something but their roads get paved and the trash is collected anyway. In my township there's a professional staff that actually does all the road maintenance and contract management, etc... They have to be knowledgeable, professional people with a background in construction and management of construction projects while the trustees are often randos with no relevant experience, and a dog could do the job of trustee because the professional staff does all the actual work.

Trustees and other low level politicians or officers in the government frequently find some way to steal millions of dollars from taxpayers. It's usually discovered relatively easily through audits, but I'm not sure how much money is ever recovered. For example, in Chesterland Township, Ohio the clerk (elected office) embezzled $4 million dollars in the late 1990s through early 2000s, but I can't even find any news stories about how much money was recovered, so it probably wasn't significant. Also, any web searches for the topic are lost in the sea of similar corruption from around the country because it's so common.

One of my middle school and high school friends lived next door to a woman who was a long time township trustee. She was an alcoholic dingbat weirdo. When he was a kid, his family went to a pool party at the trustee's house and she poured a beer over his head while he was hanging out in the pool. I listened to her give an election speech one election year--she just rambled incoherently for a few minutes. She won the office because nobody else cared to do it.

A persistent problem for humanity is the people who are actually productive are robbed or exploited by people who "organize" activities. This problem seems to arise from the infantile mindset of most people and is built into the system.

The Amish, the Cathars, and Lefty Racists

Last weekend we drove out to Mesopotomia, Ohio (aka Mespo) which is a small, rural town in the Grand River Valley. It's not too far away from where we live, but it's like a different world because of the high proportion of Amish people, and the rural landscape. When you visit a place like that, you can really see how civilization is a thing of its own that exists through a people since the Amish economy and day-to-day life is distinct from that of their immediate neighbors. The thing is really like the God of those people.

It's easier to imagine the circumstances of the Crusades against the Cathars in the 13th century when you visit a place like Mespo. In the world conception of the thuggish Catholic Church and Monarchies of the day, a distinct people and religion like that of the Cathars or the Amish today was anathema, since it represented a threat against their civic and religious order. (In WWI, Hutterites who refused to serve in the US military were tortured to death in prison)

Lefty identity politics is pretty weird when you contrast how the Amish maintain their distinct culture within a larger sea of people with no apparent sense of victimhood, i.e. being a loser. If you want to maintain a distinct way of life, which you believe is better for you and yours, then you have to actively maintain it. Lefty identity politics is weirdly passive and spoiled-child entitled.

The constant complaint and resentment against "white people" is really like that of the Catholic Church against the Cathars, except it's more the other way around in terms of population and power. The lefty racist blames all his problems on the white man instead of just living his own life and seeking after his own interests, which is exactly what whiny white klansmen do.

People Who Want a Huge Government

There are lots of people who became convinced the world needs a thermostat, and think a person like Bill Gates or someone similar should control the thermostat. Coincidentally, many of the most famous spokespeople for this general concept were associates of Jeffrey Epstein. Weirdly, it seems in addition to being global control freaks, they have hobbies like child rape and watching snuff films.

Anyway, their core concept is the world "needs management (them)". They claim if left to its own devices everything would fall apart. This is the main religion of the "lefty" people. That is, the world is broken and they can fix it.

Another mass of people, the "right" wing people tend to think individual skill and merit creates small patches of order in a sea of otherwise chaos, that is, it's you versus nature.

Both of these perspectives are based on variations of the "ego" relationship with external reality, that is the inner world model of reality.

In the lefty case, the ego is basically a pulsating sensitive vagina exposed to harsh reality. Only when the world is ordered by gays and women so there aren't even mean words, or even gestures that offend the most sensitive vagina person will the world be "fixed". They tend to go on ridiculous crusades and lead societal "reforms" and push strongly for social engineering. In prior eras, for example, they banned booze. In today's era they're big on censorship and control of person to person interaction in corporations or entities like schools.

The "right" pretends to want a smaller government and less control, but they end up making the government bigger all the time and want money for all their particular causes.

Both these groups put strong emphasis on their "beliefs" and their team. If you're not on their team and share their beliefs, you're an enemy. It's pretty common today for people to imagine a weirdo or deviant person is on the other team.

The Grange

If you live in a relatively rural part of the USA, there might be a local Grange Hall in your area. The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry is a fraternal organization patterned after the Masons that promoted the interests of farmers and rural Americans from just after the Civil War through today.

One of the most interesting aspects of the Grange is its stunning success and subsequent inability to act on that success. The organization membership exploded shortly after its founding, and managed to create an alternate economic and market infrastructure of cooperatives, however, it seems the organization veered away from its economic role in favor of advocacy of progressive legislative themes. The organization was founded to be something like an advocate for the yeomanry, but then stepped away from that role as it succeeded. It neutered itself.

The Grange is a great example of how a secret society or fraternal organizations can be engines of political organization. It is also a unique case of intentional moderation, or from another perspective, the Grange is a negative example. The elements missing from its structure, e.g. counter-intelligence to name one, put severe limits on its ability to promote members interests and failed to protect the land people against the sea people.

Nature and Civilization

In several posts, I've pointed out the odd malice that Western culture has toward the material world. The religious idea of a soul that's distinct from matter pervades almost every aspect of daily life and is the basis for opinions about the treatment of the natural world, and the treatment of animals, even domestic animals and pets. The idea that we are separate from nature is a bizarre fiction that even pervades environmentalism--the natural world is a thing to be managed and maintained in a static condition.

For more than 10,000 years, the tribes who would eventually become the people of the Western were on the move into new frontiers. They conquered, exploited, and used up lands. (Their conquests included the people of the West.) The consumption of the land is currently masked by the widespread availability of petroleum and chemical fertilizers.

Whatever the historic, indigenous society of European peoples was, the information is lost. The ability to live in a stable equilibrium with the natural world is lost. (Note that what's stable could vary wildly with techniques and methods)

That information might be the holy grail, or the red-sea parting, or the Arc that takes a small group of people to Eden. 

"Veronica Mars" vs "The Gilmore Girls"

This morning, The Gilmore Girls Netflix reboot was playing on our TV. (I wasn't working the remote at the time.) I've watched a couple episodes. It struck me that the show is a mirror image of Veronica Mars the mid 2000's cult girl detective show.

Veronica Mars depicts a film noir version of Nancy Drew where bigshot movie stars are actually psychopathic murderers and rapists, big time businessmen are pedophiles and secret societies of compromised thugs run the world and are in fact no different, only less honorable than the ethnic biker gangs in the divided town of Neptune California. (See The Sea People)

In fairness, I've not watched many Gilmore Girls episodes, but from what I've gathered it celebrates a single mom (from a wealthy but estranged family) keep her daughter on track to obtain East Coast Success, i.e. an ivy league degree and a job in the mainstream (rapidly dying) print media.

The Veronica Mars character is a creature of the underworld, the dark side. In fact, she ultimately rejects East Coast Success and ends up fighting in the underworld on behalf of her people.

Clash of Cults and a Delusional Public

Apparently one of the commanders in the US military stated that the war in Iran is somehow related to biblical prophesies and armageddon or whatever. Anywhere you look, all around the world you'll see some version of Aum Shinrikyo or some jewish/freemason sex cult like Epstein's little clique or NXIVM, dudes in robes in Bohemian Grove worshipping an Owl, which according to Richard Nixon involved the "gayest shit ever", or weirdness like "Skull and Bones" at Yale where they supposedly have a bunch of skulls and practice rituals of death and rebirth. That group appears to be a mix of hereditary members plus "new" membership. There are some families who had multiple generations of sons go through some cult at Yale.

Kookoo bananas evangelical christians spent millions of dollars breeding a "red heifer" for nutcase jew priests to sacrifice to bring about the construction of the third temple of demonologist king Solomon. One of the former supreme court justices was a member of the cult of Leo Frank. The Mormons followed a conman who peered into gazing stones to write their bible. The British Empire was essentially founded by Francis Bacon who worked with another occultist John Dee who practiced the same thing. They also participated in wife swapping a la Leo Frank.

At the same time, many people try to make sense of the world with rational analysis or game theory or look at resource scarcity or various other natural science-like explanations of world events. These rationalistic explanations are a present-day phenomenon. In the ancient world these cults were more out in the open and priesthoods were in league with the political unit of various places for thousands of years of human history. It seems like that system is still firmly in place.

Ironically the delusion of the public, now, is that it's "leadership" is meritocratic and rational, when they're really a bunch of nepo babies in cults run by magical thinking weirdos and LARPers. One of the interesting aspects of this particular delusion is the average US person is not shown the crazy ravings of "jewish" supremacists in Israel. The jews are presented as rational "western" people in a sea of rabid muslim fanatics. It's not very hard to find footage of some whacked out genocidal maniac jewish politician or priest though raving about prophesies and jewish supremacy.

The dopes in the Gulf region blowing each other up right now live in a desert with a huge population. There's no water there to support the population or to even irrigate crops. However they vie for supremacy over old comic books basically, rather than cooperate to improve their overall situation. It seems likely in this current war that basic infrastructure like water desalination plants will eventually be blown up which might make large regions of the middle east basically unlivable.

Complexity of the Information Dimension

This past weekend I went for a bike ride on Butternut Road from Munson over to Burton. It was a perfect, bright, sunny and windy day and that road is picturesque. It goes through a handful of river valleys. The Chagrin, the West Branch of the Cuyahoga, and the East Branch of the Cuyahoga and has lumpy, rolling hills and open grassy fields with horses and other farm animals all along the way.

I'm on a geology kick lately and "see" the glacial deposition, which geologists gave a bunch of names like Kames, Hummocky Moraines and the like. That route passes over several different such regions, which are complex there because the road passes over three sandstone highlands. One of them even has a name "Maple Hill" which is Auburn Road near Cedar and Butternut.

The "experience" of riding combines with the maps I've been looking at for a couple of weeks to generate a new combination of observations in my mind, and my mind only, that is in the "information dimension" where my personal Thomas Anderson character exists. I have an understanding of the difference in elevation of the Cuyahoga Formation and the Sharon Conglomerate sandstone highlands and how that's filled in with glacial till because of the effort involved to climb various hills, or drop down various descents.

The (abrigded) etymology of "experience" is instructive here, it's "ex" (out of) "peritus" (testing). Also "expert", which is someone who had experiences basically. "Experiential" learning is much deeper than mere symbolic learning, which is basically a huge waste of time. It's wild that almost the whole population of a country like the USA flushes away their prime growing and learning years soaking in a soup of disconnected factoids preached by teachers who similarly don't "know" anything.

It makes sense that culture would go hog wild on these dumb fuck LLMs. The emphasis on a jumble of pure symbolic nonsense with zero experience goes hand in hand with rote "learning" and assemblies of facts. All the "actual" knowledge, like all the nutrition is in the experience not the words. That huge sea of information is not available to machines, it can barely be shared from human to human.

Anyway, this takes my back to an immense divide between "experts" and "dilettantes" and poseurs. The expert lives in the deep complexity of the information dimension. The dilettante lives "off the cuff" and on whims. I think the US ruling class is very toxic poseurs. I'm sure there's a bunch of such people, like CEOs saying things like, "What does the AI say about it?" in meetings all the time now.

The vacuum/negative space this black hole of foolishness is creating might give birth to another wisdom tradition in the US.

Fork in the Road of Life

 

Well, looks like the "western world" is dead as a door nail. It's probably been that way for a long time, so the event itself is not much of a shock, however, the realization is.

If you have an iota of discernment, you can see that covid is a huge fraud, of sufficient breadth to incorporate the fake president of the corporation of the United States of America in its script.

Once you realize it's a scam, you can see how we're on a vast sea of cattle like retarded people who will believe anything and be prompted to do anything by some malignant handlers. They have no moral compass and the vast, vast majority wouldn't be able to tell you which literal direction is north or south, east nor west. Discerning up or down might eventually fade.

If there's no going along with that herd, then what's the option? It seems like the Amish people have a viable strategy. I'm not sure what other groups really do. Unplug from the matrix and get someplace more rural and start over? I guess that's the only option.

I'm not sure if we currently live in a place that's safe from the sea of meat/river of retards that the western world is now composed of. It's pretty close, but if it's a river, we're precariously close to the banks in our current property.

Building a New USA

The major problem that the United States and really the entire west has is the culture has been obliterated. People have been trained to be fools and slaves. Their old habits, customs, and beliefs dissolved in a sea of pop culture bullshit from corporate america and hollywood.

It's really similar to what happened to northern europeans during the middle ages when Christianity obliterated their previous culture. Their history got replaced, essentially, by the bible history of one particular little tribe. People who had been naming their kids Ragnar and Aethelfred started naming them "John", "Luke" and "Matthew".

Over the past 100 years or so, people in the US became "consumers" and "fans" and "employees". They lost any internal guidance system.

The system that they were engineered to serve is falling apart and is actually going to fail like the USSR did--possibly this year!

The most important thing of rebuilding is to rebase the culture on something durable and get people attached to it, e.g. the natural order of things. Stop living in the delusional fantasy worlds spun by oligarch minions. Everything else will sort of take care of itself.

Can We Keep the Good Stuff?

What are we here on this planet for?

One view is we're here to manage and modify it to our heart's content.

Another view is we're part of nature and should live within its limits. The limits aren't necessarily clear, by the way.

Egregious examples of technology run amok, like nuclear power (inability to dispose of spent fuel) or leaded gasoline polluting the world for 60 years seem to indicate there's a built in problem in technology or human beings. We don't seem capable of managing our creations in a responsible way--it's probably not possible. IMO, the most dangerous technology man created so far is genetic modification. That will cause pollution that we can't begin to manage or control; we can't even manage insect pollution, e.g. emerald ash borers, so what are the odds we can control molecular pollution? Water keeps getting more polluted with all kinds of crap--plastic, pharmaceuticals, etc... We have a really bad track record.

What else could we do? I'm not even sure humanity could abandon technology en masse. Psychopathic trash like Bill Gates or the world's politicians would basically put people back into the technology prison at gun point. Goons and stooges would enlist to help them.

The problem is really deep and fundamental. I think this world is lorded over by a demon, basically. Even worse, the demon isn't physical or available in this dimension. I think it basically spawned from agricultural civilization. Humans started spending time together in cities instead of out in the natural world.

Every once in a while individuals or small groups of people reconnect with the natural world in unexpected and random ways. For example, a guy recently fell off his boat while diving for urchins off the California coast. The engine was running and it zipped away from him before he could climb out of the chilly water. He thought he was toast. He was saved by a sea lion--it didn't tow him to safety. It just hung out with him and kept him company as he tried to swim back to shore. He stayed afloat long enough to get rescued because of that creature's curiosity in him and gregarious nature.

I think that little incident offers a clue about how humanity is supposed to live on this planet. We separated ourselves from nature. That does nature a disservice and does us a disservice too. We live under the dominion of a demon god... that is a form of consciousness that's really alien and corrosive to this place.

If we spent more time in the natural world, like that guy, our mind would change too. Similarly, the animals and other creatures would benefit from humanity's brainpower.

Could we keep the technological "good stuff"? Even basic things like refining metals or ceramic work? That's a really good question. I think so, but the relationship with technology and the city would be a lot different.
