"There is no spoon"

In The Matrix one of the "breakthrough" moments for the Neo character is the realization "there is no spoon". That is, "the world" is actually his imaginings. This is a pervasive, even common idea today, "if you just believe" anything is possible.

This concept propels the world of the perpetual sales pitch in which we live. There's a non-stop selling of various ideas of conmen that run corporations, governments, or NGOs. If everyone believes a thing it will become physical truth, that is ideas can magically precipitate into reality. These conmen imagine they are "magicians" who conjure reality out of the aether.

One of the weirdest variations on that theme is some people imagine they can "change their gender" via plastic surgery and mega-doses of hormones. This weird, wishful thinking is emblematic of a desired "new deal" between the ego and 3D reality.

Many billions of dollars, apparently, have been squandered on the "transgender" fantasy while many thousands of people sit in a wheelchair wishing they could walk again because of nerve damage in the spine. Nobody puts forth the concept that walking again is only a byproduct of "wanting it" enough as a society, however, we're constantly enjoined to imagine men are really women because they have long hair, wear makeup and take hormones.

I am beginning to wonder if this desired "new deal" between the ego and 3D reality is basically a case of mass "brain damage" essentially of the so called ruling class. In some cases, the families of wealthy people have been insulated from real world feedback or consequences for several generations. They're essentially "spoiled rotten".
