Similar things happen with Wi-Fi. I lost track of all the Wi-Fi standards a long time ago. We have a relatively old, but very reliably Wi-Fi access point in my house. We stream videos, transfer files around, etc... with no problems. Why would I buy another one? There's new standards that offer very fast data rates, but who cares?
The push for EVs wall all synthetic. The central planners offered up all kinds of great benefits from those, but they're really not a great substitute for gasoline powered cars, and are not even close to offering a meaningful replacement for diesel powered heavy equipment.
There's a sort of maniacal compulsion to push more and more tech crap instead of perfecting and reducing the costs and impact of existing tech. In fact, that "perfecting" mindset seems to have disappeared everywhere in the world. For a while, it was the Japanese manufacturing/engineering approach, but even they seem to have largely abandoned that idea.
I guess that's all to be expected since the world seems to be governed by psychopaths and degenerates; it looks like a cult of satanist perverts basically runs the world as more and more of the epstein dirt spills out. How could anything sensible happens when evil trash set the agenda?
